Today we are celebrating the Mint Julep! Mint Juleps are most commonly associated with the Kentucky Derby, a two-day horse racing event. A popular drink at the race, in fact nearly 120,000 mint juleps are served each year at the Derby.
In honor of the day, I am bringing you six mint recipes that are perfect for a hot summer day.
The mint julep became the signature drink of the Kentucky Derby in 1938. The glasses that they were served in were often taken home as collectors items by the derby goers.
