Safety Pin Crafts- 8 fun DIY projects!

Did you know that on this day in 1849, the safety pin was invented?  A truly fabulous and simple invention, the safety pin can now be found most everywhere and has tons of uses!  Including crafty ones!

Apparently one day back in 1849, a gentleman named Walter Hunt wanted to pay a fifteen-dollar debt to a friend. He was awarded a patent for what he called a “dress pin,” a simple device made of wire. He sold the rights to W.R. Grace and Company for four hundred dollars, paid his friend back and had three hundred eighty-five dollars to spare. What a deal!

Then he watched his little invention make millions of dollars for W.R. Grace and Company.  Kind of like winning the lottery and giving it all away!  Well, at least he paid his friend back!

So in honor of the day, here are 8 fun DIY projects that you can make using safety pins!

Are the pattern books about the safety pin projects available for order. I would really love to try out the patterns.

      Hi Debbie!

Each of the projects have a link in this post. There is no book with all the projects together. Just this compilation post. Click on the photo or the link below it, and it will take you to the individual pattern and instructions. Hope that helps!
