Today is National Oreo Day! The world’s best-selling cookies are celebrating their 102nd birthday. On March 6, 1912, the National Biscuit Company (also known as Nabisco) sold its first Oreo sandwich cookies to a Hoboken, NJ, grocer. In honor of this famous cookie, I found 15 fabulous desserts that you can make with Oreos!
Two versions debuted in 1912. The options were original and lemon meringue! The original was far more popular, and Nabisco discontinued lemon meringue in the 1920s. The original Oreo is the most popular cookie ever made. So it stands to reason that folks would make recipes with them! Want to see what I found?

Ratio of chocolate cookie to cream is important!
The original Oreo’s cookie-to-cream ratio is 71 percent cookie; 29 percent cream center. Want more creamy goodness? Now Oreos also come in Double Stuf and Mega Stuf varieties.
In 1950, they created their very first advertising slogan, “Oh!, Oh! Oreo!”

Oreos are not the same in every country!
In other countries, Oreos often come in flavors unfamiliar to Americans. In China, for example, you can buy green tea ice cream Oreos. In Argentina, you can get dulche de leche and banana Oreos.
