Today is National Quacker Day! If you have ever shopped QVC on television, then you might be familiar with Quacker Factory Clothing. And they actually have their own holiday! At least on QVC, anyway. In celebration of the theme, I found 8 sweet duck themed patterns for you to make.
The Quacker Factory is the brainchild of Jeanne Bice, who made her first appearance in QVC, a home shopping network based in Pennsylvania, on February 4, 1995. Her QVC debut proved a financial success, with her entire product line selling out in a few minutes while the show was still on the air. Jeanne worked with QVC for sixteen years, known on-air for her trademark headbands and sequinned, decorated clothing. Quacker Factory became a multi-million dollar business, grossing more than $50 million as of March 2011.
Jeanne became a cult figure to her fans. Her core group of more than two million fans and customers call themselves “Quackers.”
Jeanne died at the age of 71 in 2011, but her Quacker Factory and legend lives on.
So, in honor of the day, I found a bunch of “quackers” for you to make! Enjoy!
